SOTSU is a portable monitor brand created to "revolutionize the monitor industry", built around a team of engineers, manufacturers and designers who emphasise transparency, customer service and timeless design.

The name is the Suzhounese pronunciation of Suzhou — the 2,500-year-old city and consumer-electronics manufacturing hub the brand takes its inspiration and its name from, blending engineering, art and design.

SOTSU's parent company, Pinyu, was founded in 2015 by Ruxun Dong, a mechanical engineering graduate of Virginia Tech. Manufacturing is done in-house in an ISO-9001 (SGS-certified) facility with 5-axis capability, 18 milling and turning machines, a CMM quality-control lab and an R&D centre, so the company controls the full cycle from design to scaled production and final assembly.
